This little round pouf was designed for my daughter’s room. I wanted something small enough to fit in front of her reading chair—something that could be used as a footstool or turned into a little end table with the addition of a tray.

It’s just small enough that you can make it in a very bright or wild print without it taking over the room.

This poufs construction is straightforward, but does include sewing on curves and installing a zipper. I made a pouf insert first and then made a cover for it so that I could remove the cover and wash it. You’ll find instructions for this in the pattern. You can also find an insert here, or make your own using shredded foam and poly fill, which together gives you an insert that dense enough to keep its shape and hold a bit of weight, but still looks and feels soft and puffy. Adding a little extra polyfill to the seamed edges of your insert will help your pouf look even more perfectly shaped.
