meet heather ross
Heather Ross is an illustrator, author, and fabric designer whose work is celebrated and collected by quilters, crafters, and sewists around the world. Growing up in the mountains of northern Vermont, she was surrounded by wildflowers, old farmhouses, and the textile collections of her family—early influences that continue to inspire her signature style.
For more than two decades, Heather has designed fabric collections featuring nostalgic prints that often feature themes of nature, childhood, and everyday magic. Beyond textiles, she is the author of a memoir, How to Catch a Frog, and Boys, and Illustrated Field Guide. She is also the author of two crafts books: Weekend Sewing and Heather Ross Prints, and the illustrator of dozens of picture books, including the Crafty Chloe, Sallie Bee, and Fergus and Zeke series.
Now based in Dobbs Ferry, New York, Heather works from her studio on the Hudson River, where she continues to create illustrations and designs that capture small joys and bring beauty, imagination, and warmth into daily life.
